Dairy Queen Campaign for FIFA

Colle McVoy hired me to capture images for their client, Dairy Queen, for the FIFA campaign featuring global Blizzard flavors. This exciting project included lighting and shooting on studio sets, as well as capturing talent on motion sets. I really enjoyed working on a project with such a talented team and vibrant creative direction!

- Biscoff Cookie - Strawberry Mango-flavored Mochi - Mexican-style Hot Chocolate made with ABUELITA

Behind the stills

The soccer set called for a real sun shadow from the net across the grass, and a regulation soccer net is too fine to cast one. I tested the lighting in my own studio before the shoot and found the answer: a cargo net, which threw a crisp, believable shadow.

The other goal was keeping that bright sunshine look while giving the Blizzard cups a smooth, pretty gradient. I built a strong reflector to wrap soft light around the cups, so the set reads as a sunny day and the product still looks premium. See more about this approach on our Hard Light and Set Building pages.
