Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What exactly does a food photographer do?
A food photographer specializes in creating visually irresistible images of food and beverages. This includes product packaging, e-commerce, menus, editorial features, advertising campaigns, and social media content. The goal is always the same—to make food look delicious, on-brand, and enticing to your audience.
Q2: What’s your style? Do you have a signature look?
I don’t have one “style”—I have standards. Every project gets perfect lighting, styling, colors, and sets tailored to your brand. My goal is to tell your story, set the right mood, and create imagery that feels authentic and compelling to your audience.
Q3: What kind of clients do you typically work with?
I collaborate with a wide range of clients, including marketing teams, social media teams, brand managers, agencies, chefs, entrepreneurs, startups, and national food and beverage companies of all sizes.
Q4: Do you offer food styling, or do I need to hire someone else?
Styling is included! As both a chef and a photographer, I provide comprehensive food styling to ensure every image is as mouthwatering as possible. Having an in-house prop and surface library makes anything possible!
Q5: What’s your process from start to finish?
My workflow is smooth and collaborative:
Consultation – We discuss your vision, goals, and needs.
Proposal & Quote – You’ll get a clear plan with deliverables and costs.
Pre-production – Shot lists, moodboards, props, and logistics are finalized.
The Shoot – Executed in my studio or on location, where you can view and provide feedback in real time.
Post-production – Editing, retouching, and delivery of polished images to your satisfaction.
Delivery – Final files provided in high resolution. Feedback is always welcome!
Q6: What equipment do you use?
I shoot with high-resolution Phase One medium-format and Nikon systems, as well as a Canon cinema camera for video. My toolkit includes specialized lenses, professional lighting (strobes, LEDs, modifiers), and a fully stocked library of props, surfaces, and sets to bring any creative vision to life.
Q7: Do you shoot in-studio or on location?
Both! My studio is fully equipped for controlled shoots, but I also love capturing products in real-world settings—restaurants, kitchens, or any location that best tells your story.
Q8: How long does a session take?
It depends on the scope. Most clients request a library of assorted images, stop motions, and reels, which can typically be shot in one day. Packages can always be customized to your needs.
Q9: How do you determine the price of your services?
Pricing is based on scope, including the number of images, location, and post-production. I offer hourly, half-day, full-day, and project-based pricing, and will provide a detailed, custom quote after learning about your project.
Q10: What’s your turnaround time?
Turnaround time varies by project size, but final edited images are typically delivered within one to two days or up to a week.
Q11: What should I prepare before the shoot?
A clear shot list, inspiration images (if available), and your product shipped to the studio will ensure a smooth and efficient session.
Q12: Can I give feedback on the shoot?
Absolutely! Feedback is encouraged. I offer real-time collaboration options via text, Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams, so you can see progress and provide input.
Q13: How far in advance should I book?
Ideally, 2–4 weeks ahead, especially for larger projects or peak seasons, to secure the best availability.
