Food and CPG Photographer in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Southern California

Judy Doherty Studio is a food, beverage, and CPG photography studio in Southern California, between Los Angeles and San Diego. We build marketing image libraries for brands, restaurants, and grocery stores: ecommerce, website, campaign, and social content from one shoot.

In Our Studio or On Location

Shoot in our studio kitchen with a full prop and surface library, or we bring the mobile studio to you. We work on location across Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire, and San Diego, at restaurants, grocery stores, farms, and production kitchens.

What We Shoot in Southern California

Restaurant and menu photography for high-end restaurants and chains
Grocery and campaign photography, in store or in studio
Tabletop food photography with in-house food styling

Local Work

Vallarta Supermarkets trusts us with their food photography for signage, in store and online, including summer campaigns shot on location in their stores and Hispanic Heritage Month. We photographed Javier’s Cantina on location in Newport Beach, lighting the dishes and the ocean-view dining room in a live restaurant. And we produce monthly campaigns for Lather, the luxury skincare brand, in studio and on location.

In Los Angeles we have also shot Maw and Paw human-grade dog food and supplements, and a beverage lifestyle shoot in Venice Beach for Anatolio juices. In San Diego we have photographed Tosi snack bars, Birdie and Louie cat food and Popcorn Indiana for Eagle Foods.

Why Brands Choose Us

One photographer directs every shoot, so your look stays consistent. Our chef stylist is Pro Chef II certified by The Culinary Institute of America, with over 20 years in commercial kitchens. You can join the shoot live on Zoom, and final images are delivered in 1 to 2 days. You get a full production without the big downtown crew, so your budget goes further.
