I am a San Francisco Bay Area-based food and product photographer. I trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, and the Richemont Fachschule in Luzern, Switzerland. My approach to food photography is not only meticulous; it takes a deep dive to create compelling, creative content about the food where food is the hero. My knowledge and relationship with ingredients, cooking processes, recipe development, and flavor pairings allow me to play in a most delicious, often subconscious way to engage the visual appetite of the viewer. I always focus on "mouthwatering" for food and anything I shoot. My crew and I often scramble to the kitchen to make what we were shooting for our crew lunch!
My experience as a chef, stylist, and photographer has received many awards including APA Top 100, ACF Gold Medal, and a juried fine art photo exhibit at Art Basel Miami. Serving as Executive Pastry Chef for 2 Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, I served many stars, corporate clients, foreign dignitaries, and Super Bowl teams. I completed 2 post-baccalaureate certificates for Visual Art and Graphic Design at U.C. Berkeley Extension in San Francisco and am finishing a master's degree in the food business at the Culinary Institute of America with an emphasis on sustainability and branding.
A lean and nimble approach to creative visual results is my strength. I enjoy working closely with brands, agencies, art directors, graphic designers, influencers, marketing teams, chefs, and entrepreneurs to build vivid, authentic imagery that engages the visual taste of the viewer. I never tire of the vast array of projects I get to work on. Every visual creation takes its own path and every client is unique in their vision and needs. The satisfaction of my clients and the promotion of their business endeavors with beautiful images provide me with a great deal of satisfaction.
My studio is located in Castro Valley in the San Francisco Bay Area in California and features carefully curated props and unique hand-crafted surfaces, a fully-equipped kitchen, 3 still-life production studios, an outdoor studio, and a post-production station. I am experienced with remote production for busy clients and have a creative process that quickly gets to the heart of what the client desires. Projects go from creative brief to final image using my in-house teams. I do enjoy collaboration with outside artists as well as work on location.
